About Adéwálé Students’ Conference

Adéwálé Students’ Conference is an annual programme aimed at inspiring young people to become well-rounded geniuses who are equipped with the right knowledge they need to face the world beyond school.The event features keynote speeches addressing topical issues and a trademark academic contest amongst students from various schools in Ogun State. More than 300 students participated in the maiden edition which was held on September 29th, 2021. We remain committed to empowering the younger generation in Ogun state to become a better version of themselves one community at a time.

How to Participate in ASC 2022 Inter-School Contest

The inter-school competition, a major feature of the annual Adéwálé Students’ Conference is set to award the winning school with a grand prize of 1,000,000 Naira in 2022! This is to encourage academic ingenuity amongst secondary school students of Ogun state. All secondary schools in Ogun state will have the opportunity to participate.


Stage 1: Qualifying Rounds

All Registered schools will each provide two candidates to compete in a written qualifying test. Fourty (40) schools will make it to the finals.

Selection Process
  • The school with the higest culmulative score in each local government automatically qualifies for the grand finale irrespective of their score. All the 16 LGA are represented in the finals.
  • After the first 16, the top 24 schools with the highest cumulative scores across the State will qualify for the grand finale
Stage 2: Finale

All qualifying candidates from the Stage 1 will compete in the grand finale on September 29th, 2022.

For the Conference:
Schools that do not qualify will be invited to be a part of the grand finale as conference attendees.
All other interested schools can attend the conference when registration opens in September 2022.
NB: A school's final score is the cumulative score of its two student representatives
Requirements:

1. You must be a school in Ogun state
2. Interested schools will register two students for the competition
3. Participate in the Zonal Qualifiers to qualify for the grand finale in September
4. Representatives must be in SS2
5. Good knowledge of STEAM subjects {Sciences: Chemistry and Biology, Technology: Computer science, Engineering: Physics, Art: General Knowledge, Mathematics}

Building on the impact and goodwill garnered from the conference's maiden edition last year, the second edition of the Adewale Students' Conference themed "Today's Skill for Tomorrow's Wealth” is set to hold on 29th September 2022 at the Indoor Hall, Gateway International Stadium, Sagamu Ogun State. The event, which combines the grand finale of the annual STEM-based competition with an insightful seminar, is expected to empower secondary students in Ogun state.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who can be a part of the program?

All secondary school (private and public) students in Ogun. A maximum of 10 which includes the candidates for the competition. All you have to do is register your school and the students that would be a part of the show

Who can participate in the competition?

The senior secondary school two students are eligible to participate in the competition.

Can we participate in the games on D-day?

Participation in the full conference requires reservation of seats.However, to participate in the inter-school competition, you need to register on or before May 31st, 2022.

What if my school does not win? Can we still be part of the conference?

Definitely, the conference is open to all secondary schools in Ogun state. Each school is entitled to reserving at most 10 seats and a teacher for the event.
